On April 30, housing and disability District Government agencies have partnered to sponsor the 18th Annual DC Fair Housing Symposium, a city-wide event that seeks to raise awareness about fair housing rights and responsibilities.
The symposium sponsors have developed an impressive list of speakers who will relate first-hand accounts of impediments to fair housing, provide research data on the District’s efforts to ameliorate fair housing impediments and provide a guide on how to best use media outlets to tell the fair housing story.
Theme
Fair Housing: Telling Our Story - This year’s symposium seeks to inform and educate residents, providers, advocates, and industry professionals on the real-life encounters of housing discrimination as experienced by members of our various protected communities; and how these stories are effectively told from the pen and lens of the media.
